Why Work With Me
When parents are navigating special education paperwork, they need more than a second set of eyes — they need someone who understands how the process works, what strong documentation should include, and how to organize concerns in a clear, professional way.
Deep Experience in Special Education
I bring more than 20 years of experience in education, special education leadership, compliance oversight, staff development, program implementation, and documentation review. My background includes serving as a campus principal, district-level special populations leader, Director of Special Education, Director of Dyslexia, MTSS, 504 & Assessment, and Educational Specialist conducting special education investigative reviews.
Document & Compliance Expertise
Throughout my career, I have reviewed ARD/IEP documents, evaluations, progress data, service documentation, prior written notices, timelines, parent concerns, district responses, and compliance records. I have also trained and coached educators, supported school leaders, led special education systems, and helped translate complex special education requirements into clear, actionable next steps.
Support for Parents
That experience allows me to help parents make sense of the paper trail — not with fear, confusion, or frustration, but with organization, clarity, and confidence.
At The IEP Paper Trail, I use my background to help families:
- Understand what their child’s IEP/ARD documents actually say
- Organize evaluations, progress reports, emails, and school records
- Prepare thoughtful questions before ARD meetings
- Develop clear parent concern statements
- Create timelines of events and documentation
- Identify records that may need to be requested or clarified
- Walk into meetings feeling more prepared and less overwhelmed
A Calm, Parent-Friendly Approach
My approach is calm, professional, parent-friendly, and documentation-focused. I believe the paper trail matters because it tells the story of a child’s needs, services, supports, progress, and concerns.
My goal is simple: to help parents feel informed, organized, and confident as they advocate for their child.
